Invisalign® Clear Aligners
Plenty of adults are bothered by crooked teeth, but oftentimes they don’t want to have to wear metal brackets and wires to correct the problem. Luckily, with Invisalign®, there’s a much more discreet way to straighten your smile. You simply need to wear a series of clear aligners that will gradually move the teeth into their proper positions. Each aligner is made out of a see-through plastic that’s virtually invisible when worn in your mouth, meaning most people won’t even notice it. After about 12 to 18 months, you’ll have a perfectly aligned grin to show off.
Veneers
Are there multiple corrections that you want to make to your smile? With veneers, we can address multiple problems at once! A veneer is simply an ultra-thin porcelain shell that’s placed on the front of your natural tooth, thus hiding cracks, discoloration, and other imperfections from view. You can dramatically enhance your grin in just two appointments! And since veneers can last 10 to 15 years with the right maintenance, you’ll be able to enjoy the results for a long time.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is one of the most popular dental cosmetic procedures; it can be an excellent choice if your teeth have become discolored over the years or if there are any noticeable stains on your enamel. At our office, we can perform in-office Zoom! teeth whitening, which can significantly brighten your smile in less than an hour! Don’t worry if you have sensitive teeth; a special patent-pending whitening gel is used during the procedure to help keep you comfortable.
BOTOX®
Are you bothered by any wrinkles or fine lines that appear when you smile? We can use BOTOX® to smooth out your skin and give your entire face a more youthful appearance. BOTOX® works by blocking the facial nerves from sending out the chemical signals that cause muscle contractions. The muscles around the injection site will relax, and your wrinkles will start to fade. You can have a BOTOX® injection performed every 3 to 4 months to help maintain the results.
Dental Implants
If you want to replace your teeth in a way that looks natural, dental implants are often an excellent solution. Your dental prosthetic will be supported by implant posts that have been surgically inserted in the jaw, keeping them firmly in place at all times. You won’t need to worry about your new teeth slipping at the wrong moment.
Dental Crowns
Metal dental crowns can draw the wrong kind of attention when you smile. That’s why we offer crowns made out of natural-looking materials that let your new restoration blend right in with the rest of your teeth. Don’t worry about compromising on quality; tooth-colored crowns can last for years when given the right kind of care.
Cosmetic Dentistry FAQs
Are you ready to begin your smile transformation? No matter what kind of cosmetic dentistry you need, you’re likely to have a few questions about the process. Our team can address any concerns you might have before your procedure, so don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s anything you don’t understand. Below, we’ve listed answers to some of the cosmetic dentistry questions that we’ve heard from many of our patients in the past.
Is Cosmetic Dentistry Covered by Insurance?
In most cases, the answer is no. The majority of cosmetic treatments are considered elective procedures, which aren’t typically covered under dental insurance. That said, cosmetic treatments that provide oral health benefits are sometimes eligible for coverage. For example, many plans will help pay for a crown or veneer that’s intended to protect a damaged or weakened tooth. Also, Invisalign is considered an orthodontic treatment and is thus often covered to some extent. If you reach out to your insurance company, they’ll be able to confirm what kind of coverage is available for specific treatments.
Is Cosmetic Dentistry Safe?
Most cosmetic dentistry procedures are considered safe so long as they’re performed by a trained professional. That said, the patient’s circumstances have to be considered. For example, if you have a tooth that’s currently suffering from decay, we do not recommend having a veneer placed over it; it will only make the problem more difficult to treat. As such, cavities and other oral health issues need to be properly treated before we move forward with any cosmetic procedures.
Our team will thoroughly examine your mouth during your initial cosmetic consultation. Afterward, we’ll give you an overview of the current state of your oral health and explain which cosmetic services (if any) may not be a good fit for your situation.
How Long Does Cosmetic Dentistry Last?
The answer to that question depends on what specific treatments were performed:
- Veneers and crowns can potentially last 10 years or more with the right maintenance.
- The effects of teeth whitening usually last a few years, although it largely depends on the care you give your smile.
- BOTOX® treatment needs to be repeated every three to four months.
- Dental implants can stay in your mouth for decades or even a lifetime.
- The results of Invisalign can potentially last the rest of your life provided that you wear your retainer.
Does Cosmetic Dentistry Hurt?
Our team will take whatever steps are necessary to keep you comfortable during your chosen cosmetic treatment. For example, if you’re having veneers placed, we’ll numb your mouth for the procedure. You might notice some soreness in the days following your treatment, but it will fade on its own over time, and you can manage the discomfort with ibuprofen or other over-the-counter pain medications.
Note that some cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening are noninvasive, which means that you usually don’t even need a local anesthetic.
